Tangail court has sent him to jail rejecting his bail plea in freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case

Ruling party MP, surrendered before the court of First Additional District Sessions Judge Abul Monsur Mia on Sunday morning, requesting bail.

However, the judge denied his request and had ordered him to jail.

Freedom Fighter Faruk was found murdered in front of his house in the town’s College Para area on January 18, 2013. Nahar Ahmed the victim’s wife filed a murder charge with the local police.

Last year on 13th November, the Supreme Court, overturned a High Court which instructed the police, not to arrest him. Paving the way for his arrest. He had been absconding since then.

MP Rana along with his brothers, Shahidur Rahman Khan, mayor of Tangail municipality and general secretary of Tangail city Awami League, Jahidur Rahman Khan president of Tangail Chamber of Commerce and Saniyat Khan Bappa a leader of Chhatra League are accused in the murder charge sheet filed by Police on 3rd February earlier this year.

The other accused are, Kabir Hossain, Anisul Islam (Raja), Mohammed Ali Samir, Farid Ahmed, the security guard for MP, Babu, former Jubo League leaders Alamgir Hossain, Nasir Uddin, Sanwar Hossain and former Tangail ward commissioner Masudur Rahman.

Of them only Anisul, Mohammed Ali, Samir and Farid has been arrested, and rest are still absconding.
